WHAT'S ON OFFER
As a Senior Data Implementation Engineer reporting to the Manager, Technical Implementations, you will play a critical role in configuring and implementing our AI-driven platform to enable our customer's success. You will partner closely with the Business Acceleration and Engineering teams throughout the entirety of the customer lifecycle and be responsible for managing all data-related activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical fluency - especially in data analysis, querying, and ETL.
Please include a cover letter with your application outlining your relevant experience and interest in this role, you can describe a project you've worked on that relates to one of the "What you bring" or "What you will do" points, and share how you'd expand on it here at ODAIA.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead customer-facing data discovery, assessment, and integration, serving as the technical authority on how customer data assets are brought into our platform
- Define technical requirements and implementation approaches with customers, our support team, and other internal teams, and own triage and escalation of reported issues across implementations
- Architect, configure, and deploy platform solutions tailored to each customer, connecting seamlessly with their existing systems and setting the technical direction for complex or non-standard integrations
- Design, build, and maintain automated, config-driven ETL workflows, using tools like Snowflake and AWS Glue, to enable repeatable, high-quality data ingestion at scale
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across the data pipeline - from ingestion and transformation through orchestration and system configuration - and drive durable fixes rather than one-off patches
- Own the weekly data delivery cycle for a portfolio of customers, proactively resolving issues to keep deliveries on time and error-free, and define the monitoring and alerting that keeps them that way
- Identify recurring manual work in the implementation and delivery process - including manual trigger steps - and lead the effort to automate it, establishing reusable patterns and standards that improve scalability across the team
- Mentor Data Implementation Engineers, review their work, and contribute to implementation best practices, documentation, and onboarding
- Partner with Engineering and Business Acceleration to feed customer and pipeline learnings back into the product and delivery roadmap
- Uphold and help shape data security and privacy protocols in line with industry standards
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6+ years of experience with data migration, ETL, and pipeline tools, including designing pipelines end to end
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS (e.g., Glue, S3), or equivalent cloud data infrastructure
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, including performance tuning and writing maintainable, production-grade code
- Deep experience with APIs and integration framework
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow) and config-driven/declarative pipeline systems (e.g., dbt), with experience designing these systems being a strong asset
- Proven track record of leading complex implementations or data migrations from discovery through delivery
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset, with demonstrated success owning ambiguous technical problems directly with customers
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, including at the executive level
- Experience mentoring or informally leading other engineers
- Experience in the life sciences/pharma industry, including familiarity with tools like Veeva Vault or Salesforce, is a strong asset
