WHAT’S ON OFFER
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager. We are still a new team so this is a great opportunity to build from the ground up. Coming off a strong Series B round in 2023, with great investors and an experienced leadership team, this is a great opportunity for individuals that thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Metrics & Business KPI’s: Understand the key drivers of the business - and what decisions will impact our metrics going forward. The ability to act as a business partner across cross-functional teams and bring a finance perspective will be valuable.
- Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling skills are required (SaaS Metrics, Revenue Forecasting, Financial Forecasts, ad-hoc models). These models will be critical to understand financial performance and hold business leaders accountable.
- Budgeting: Manage Expenses and Cash Flow through building the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes and by respectfully challenging business leaders to gain operational efficiencies.
- Month-End Package Preparation: Preparation of Month-End Packages of our Financial results - including (but not limited to) Financial updates, headcount reporting, investor reports, BvA analysis, and closing our financials.
- Audit/External Accounting: Aide the team in our year-end audit and tax return preparation - as well as acting a key liaison between leadership and the audit team.
- Board & Investor Reporting: Responsible for sections of our Board of Directors and Quarterly Investor Meetings - as well as our Board financials.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum 3 + years of relevant or similar experience
- CPA/Working towards a CPA designation preferred
- You love the idea of building a new finance function including new processes and adding new tools
- Accuracy and Excel are your middle names
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced/start-up environments and are adaptable
- Believer that financial analysis is a key part of making strategic business decisions and you can create business cases to drive operational business decisions
- Creating financial models is second nature to you
- Ability to drive concepts quickly and can run with them on minimal guidance
- Tech savvy and the ability to efficiently and effectively use different operations software tools
- We use Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced excel skills are required
- Bonus points for experience with FP&A including financial modeling, business case, budgeting forecasting and monthly financial statement analysis
- Always up for a challenge and you’re always striving to learn something new
- Strong skill set communicating, presenting and writing, and the ability to work well cross-functionally
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal guidance
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive information

LOCATION
We are a fully remote company headquartered in Toronto with frequent virtual and in-person collaborative work sessions and socials. We leverage many synchronous and asynchronous communication tools. We also have an office hub, located in downtown Toronto. Team members drop in whenever they like! Our finance team tends to get together in person every couple of times a month at the Hub, so we’re searching for a Toronto based team member.
